Groundhog Day

I just witnessed a large rodent that some call Phil predict six more weeks of Winter. I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of freezing temperatures. Sure the snow is pretty. It’s nice to gaze at from a warm interior place. However, it is a pain when you actually have things to do.

I live in a place where drivers are terrible as it is. Add snow, ice, untreated roads, and distracted drivers. The results are disastrous. The first snow of the season arrived a few days ago. Negligent drivers led to several road closures and hundreds of collisions. Fortunately for me, I don’t have pressing obligations and can stay warm and safe inside for now.

I can’t help but wonder what the next six weeks will bring. Phil, after all, only has about a 35% accuracy rate. In the meanwhile, I will admire the beauty of what fell and look forward to warmer days. Spring is coming.
